First Aid Training (20/04/21):
The SUWC needs leaders! (20/04/21):
If you are interested in being a walks leader:
The walking club needs leaders to hold its walks, if you're interested in becoming a leader yourself please check out the attached pdf!! Being a leader means you get to plan and hold walks for the club, both during the semester and on club trips. You don't need any prior experience, we cover all the necessary training!
We are a bunch of (mostly) University of Sheffield students who really love walking about in the Peak District and all places hilly - anyone is welcome on our walks and we'll always do our best to accomodate you.
The club runs walks most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the University semesters - the exact locations are in our weekly emails.
The walks will generally range from 8 to 13 miles and we try to have an easier and harder walk every weekend.
We always welcome new people on our walks whether you're a member or not. As always we only ask that you turn up with sensible footwear and enough food and water to see you through the day.
Don't worry if you're too busy to come walking sometimes - you can still join us for our brilliant weekly socials!
These are every Thursday, 7:30pm at various pubs around Sheffield. There's often a big turn-out so it's a great chance to meet lots of new people.
We also have non-alcoholic socials planned for 2020 - keep an eye out for these!
For information on these keep an eye on our weekly email or our Walks & Events page.
The club generally organises 3 trips a year, our 'Fresher's Trip' in October, an Easter trip, and our summer trip which takes place at the end of the academic year.
Anyone is very welcome to come on these - we generally stay in a bunkbarn or similar accomodation for a couple of nights.
Previous trips in the past have visited places such as the Lakes, Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Snowdonia!
If you're interested in these - keep an eye on our emails or our Trips page!
